Owl

Welcome to Owl Class

We are Year 3 children (7-8 years) and there are 24 children in our class.  Our teacher is Miss Hodgson and she is supported by our teaching assistant Mrs Bonner.  We are taught in our single-aged class on a morning and then merge with Squirrel Class (Year 4) on an afternoon so we also work with Miss Robertson and Miss Hunter.

To find out what we will be doing this year, take a look at the Our Curriculum section of our website.  To help us with our spelling and reading, take a look at the phonics and reading section of our website.  As we get older, we access the internet more and school wants us to stay safe online.  To find out how you can support us in staying safe online, check out the Online Safety section of our website.

Keep an eye on this page to see what we get up to!

Autumn 2

This half term in English, we are reading ‘Hansel and Gretel’ by Anthony Browne. We will also be looking at the poem ‘Junk’ by Kirk Hendry. We are looking forward to completing some fantastic writing  and we can’t wait to share some examples with you soon!

In Mathematics, we are working hard to develop our knowledge of addition and subtraction and will be developing written methods for this. We will also continue to develop our knowledge of the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.

n our other subjects, we are looking at some very interesting topics!

In Science, we are answering the question, ‘Can we control electricity?’

In History, we are answering the question, ‘Who were Britain’s first builders?’ with a focus on the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.

We are also looking at friendships and families in PSHE, Christianity in RE and will also be carrying on with learning French!

Our PE day is a Wednesday afternoon.
