Welcome to Nursery
Mrs Heron, Miss Fenwick and Mrs Graham welcome you to Nursery!
Forest Fridays – Spring Term
Every Friday is ‘Forest Friday’ in Nursery. We love to be outdoors on the field in our forested area whatever the weather. Please make sure that your child comes to Nursery dressed in old, warm clothes every Friday, including a waterproof coat. Each child should have a pair of named wellies in school to change into.
School re-opens fully
We have now welcomed back all remaining children to Nursery who had been learning at home. It has been wonderful to see them all back with us and playing with their friends.
We enjoyed lots of activities and learning based around the book Handa’s Surprise, including acting out the story, tasting all of the different fruits and learning the names of all of the animals from the story.
World Book Day 2021
We celebrated World Book Day with a bedtime story theme. Everyone came to Nursery wearing their pyjamas for the day. We snuggled up together to read and share our favourite bedtime stories. We also learned the nursery rhyme ‘Ten in the Bed’.
Nursery has now re-opened! The children have had a great time seeing their friends again and enjoying all of their favourite activities both indoors and outdoors!
Learning at Home – Spring Term 2021
Our children are engaging amazingly well with our remote learning during the national lockdown. We meet up every morning and afternoon for our online grouptime and story sessions, bringing together the children learning and home and those who are in school. Our activities are based around a different story each week. Stories have included ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, ‘Stuck’, ‘Dear Zoo’, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and ‘Cinderella’.

Welcome to Nursery – September 2020
This September, we have welcomed back our children and we have said hello to lots of new children, including some 2 year-olds. The older children have been very kind and helpful in helping the new children to settle in. Well done everyone!
In Nursery, our curriculum is based around play. Our activities link to the children’s interests and also to key stories. Planned activities and opportunities for learning ensure that children make progress in all areas of the EYFS curriculum, which are:-
- personal, social and emotional development.
- communication and language.
- physical development.
- understanding the world.
- expressive arts and design.
In Nursery, we love playing outdoors! Look at some of the fun we have been having so far. Please make sure that your child comes to Nursery with a warm, waterproof coat each day. Each child should have a pair of named wellies in school so that we can make the most of our outdoor areas whatever the weather.
